Music degree at Manchester University - advice needed

Hi, I went to an open day at Manchester and really liked it. The students and staff were friendly and the facilities looked great. However, I'm not sure about doing a music degree here. The prospectus says the Bmus course covers a variety of genres and after the first year you can shape the degree so it focuses on areas you're interested in but at the open day most of the prospective students seemed to be from a classical background. Is the course very classically focused, or does it cater for other genres? I'm a classically trained pianist but vocals are my main 'instrument' and I want to focus on pop and jazz and performance. Any advice much appreciated.
