Did anyone do Northumbria Uni art degree?

This degree is absolutely terrible so far we haven’t done any art in 3 weeks. We overheard lecturers saying they are making it intentionally boring to “weed people out”. This morning we just watched a 1hr vid of someone wiggling their hand in silence. This is not the art I wanted to do. Loads of us are thinking of switching.

I was just in that session lol. I can't lie I'm thinking about waiting for applications to reopen for uni and apply to Newcastle for fine art or to find a completely different course..
Lots of art degrees are beyond a joke. You should get out while you can.

Hi,

I’m sorry to hear this has been your experience on your course so far.

I would suggest talking to your Programme Rep about this and letting them know any concerns you have as they will voice and discuss any feedback with programme staff to work towards a solution. On your Student Portal, you can find your Programme Rep’s details under the ‘My Reps’ section and in your Student Dashboard on our website.

You could also get in touch with the SABB Team Education VP, Ita, who can be contacted via the details on this page: https://mynsu.co.uk/sabbteam. There’s also the option to book a meeting with Ita on that page where you could chat about your course so far.

I hope this helps,
Steph
