GCSE resit that is not core

Hi. I need to get one more GCSE for the job that I’d like, but I’m currently struggling to find anywhere that will facilitate a GCSE exam that isn’t core and all I need is the exam, I’ve already asked my school but they don’t allow resits for subjects that aren’t core.

what subject are you thinking of resitting? you could sit it in a private exam centre but youd have to pay.

I’d like to resit History. I’ve had a look at Edexcel centres but I’m not sure if they are genuine, I don’t want to get scammed as it’s a lot of money haha.

well if its directly from the edexcel website and if its credited by them then i dont see why you shouldnt pay for the exams. what job would you like to do in the future?

Yeah, I need to look into it a bit more, but this is why I’ve asked as I’m not sure myself. I’d like to be an RAF Pilot, if I can get myself into a resit I will be able to apply by December

ooh cool. im guessing you have 4 gcses, is that right? 5 gcses is usually the number you need in order to apply to jobs. how much does it cost to resit a subject anyways? im asking because i want to resit science in case my job aspirations change.

That’s right, as long as sixth form goes to plan and I can get a resit I should hopefully be able to get in. I had a look earlier this afternoon and it’s £200 but I’m not sure if it’s more for science, they have prices on their website, I found it by chance really. What do you want to do?
