AS Further Maths and LSE

I do Maths, Chemistry and Economics for A level and I’m looking to perhaps do a degree in either economics or actuarial science. I want to pursue LSE but I heard 95% of applicants that are successful take Further Maths A level. I take Further Maths AS level and I would like someone to tell me if I am wasting my time. I barely got the 8 in my GCSES but right now, AS Further maths doesn’t seem horrible and it’s going smoothly right now and I know with the right determination I’ll get an A but, if I won’t even be considered to LSE then it would all probably be for nothing. I have an another plan to go to UCL which is one I’m leaning towards, and it seems they’re not as pushy about Further mathematics but I could be mistaken.

I was thinking about changing this to an EPQ instead because it gives me more UCAS points and isn’t an actual times assessment but I’m still not sure

TLDR: Am I wasting my time taking AS further maths for potentially getting into LSE?

I think if your school offers the full A2 they expect you to take it otherwise AS they claim to be enough. Maybe search on the freedom of info how many applicant had fm someone’s has prob asked before. But it is true that many applicant probably do the entire A level FM

LSE don't consider UCAS points... so an EPQ wouldn't necessarily be better
