WARWICK - Will be eligible for a contextual offer?

Hi,

I am currently in Year 13 and in the process of putting together my application for university. I really want to go to Warwick University for Accounting and Finance, but my predicted grades are AAAB instead of the required A*AA. I am eligible for contextual offers from other universities (e.g Exeter) as I am a carer with parental responsibilities for my 3 younger sisters, two of which have special needs. However, I have been attending an independent school for my entire secondary school life but I have also been receiving a large amount of financial support from the school to pay for my education the entire time. Does the fact that I go to a private school completely eliminate my chances of getting a contextual offer, or does the fact that I receive financial aid neutralise that in a way? Thanks

I got a Warwick contextual offer (graduated this year) without being too personal is your full tuition payed for/covered ? Regardless yes you going to an independent school will mean you’re likely not going to be considered for Warwick. As they are clear on rejecting/not eligible for contextual offers. However you can flag extenuating circumstances for Warwick as your a carer (and you could use that opportunity to mention the independent school costs being paid by the institution especially if you got the aid via academic merits) and even if Warwick only give you a grade reduction of 1 you may still be fine as you have 4 A grades vs 2A1A*
