York, Leeds or Nottingham for Computer science

Hi, I am applying for CS very soon and have yet to decide what my 4th and 5th options should be. I quite like York, Leeds, and Nottingham, but I can only choose 2, so could some people give me advice on what 2 I should choose? A bit about me: I want to go to a place that's aesthetically pleasing with stuff to do and things to explore. I'd like fun nights out, but I'm a bit of an introverted, very nerdy person, so I wouldn't want to go to a place where partying and being out 24/7 is the center of everybody's interests.
Hi! It would probably be a good idea for you to attend open days at the universities, or if you have missed these, travel to the cities and look around the university grounds (if they allow this), and get a feel for the place. You can change your mind when you visit a city - it can surprise you - a place you expected to really like can underwhelm you and a place you didn't expect to like, you may find feels 'right'. Hope this helps 😊
What are your predicted grades?

With your predicted grades all three of those unis are relatively safe options. So you don't need to worry about being rejected from them. I'd say in terms of reputation (From high to low) : Nottingham, York, Leeds.

Nottingham and Leeds depending on your other options

I don’t know much about the rankings but wouldn’t you say that Leeds ranks higher than York ? I’ve heard that Leeds have excellent connections with tech and employers

Hello!

As noted by @UniofNottsEnq, your best bet is to visit the universities if able. In fact, that is what I did when I was going through the application process. There are a number of variables that you could take into account to help you decide. Those can be your potential accommodation options, living costs, the location of the university (is the public transport network extensive? is it limited?) and so on.

I hope it helps,
Abián.

Hello, if you'd like somewhere that's aesthetically pleasing you'd be hard put to beat York, both our campus and city are genuinely beautiful. The campus manages to combine historic architecture, such as Heslington Hall, with modern, such as the Piazza, within parkland. The city is small enough to be walkable but large enough to constantly have new things happening, it definitely hits the 'Goldilocks zone' and also has a huge range of historic architecture. I've been really happy since moving here a couple of years ago 🙂

If you're feeling introverted the societies are a good, no pressure way to start socialising.

All the best, E.
