Asking parents for weights

About 2 years ago, I lost a fair amount of weight. I’m pretty socially awkward, especially when it comes to talking about my health, so it took me months to even bring it up. Now my fitness goals have changed, and I want to gain muscle, but I can’t seem to stay motivated doing calisthenics.
I believe that if I buy some weights, I can stick to a more consistent routine, but I’m stuck on how to ask my parents for them. I feel a bit anxious about how to bring it up, and I’m unsure how to approach the conversation.
I’d really appreciate any advice on how to get started with weights and how to talk to my parents about it.

How old are you, and are there any gyms nearby?

I’m 15 but you have to be 16 to go to the local one.

Most gyms don't bother verifying age, so if you look old enough, you should be ok.

A set of adjustable dumbbells will keep you going until you can join a gym. Back when I was young, things like the below were quite popular amongst teens:

This will enable you to do exercises such as curls, overhead press, overhead triceps extensions, lunges, Bulgarian spit squats, dumbbell rows, single leg Romanian deadlifts, upright rows, etc.

Id agree i swear my local gym gets packed with kids straight after school finishes. I would suggest you get a gym induction though or drag a friend along
