The Student Room Group

I'm f***** with student finance

Basically I had a transfer of universities and my old one didn't tell to SFE that I have been withdrawn so my tuition fees are still going to the old one.
I asked them to send a notification to SFE to let them know but they just won't because they think my application will get cancelled if they do that.

I asked my new uni to send them a letter that I am attending there and they are taking the **** to send it. They are requesting a hundred things but still NOT sending anything. And they also just sent me an email where they ask where's my letter of entitlement. Crazy.

SFE instead is telling me to contact my unis, LIKE IM NOT DOING THAT ALREADY. I sent them a letter for a change of circumstances and they freaking refused it.

I'm so done what am I even meant to do. I really don't want to pay my tuition fees.

Hi there,

We're sorry to hear this. When you login to your account now, what's the status of your application. Is it withdrawn, or still showing as approved?

Thanks, Graeme

Hi,

It is still showing as approved to my old uni. I asked my current one to send a letter that I am attending again but they take days on end to reply and do anything.
Hi there,

Did you receive any payments for the previous course or have we paid the Tuition Fee Loan to the old course?

Thanks, Drew

Hi, no the tuition fee has not been paid to my old university and won't be paid because they won't confirm my attendance.

Thanks. Have you received any maintenance loan payments? If so, then yes we would need either the old or new university to update us with a 'change of circumstance' so we can transfer you to the correct university and have this updated on the system. Thanks, Jason

Hi, yes I received my maintenance loan payments and I am contacting my new university to send you the COC. I have tried to contact my old university to let them know they need to send you this COC but they keep replying that SFE will withdraw my whole application if they do so.
Hi there. We don't need the old university to send a withdrawal if the new university are sending a transfer. Thanks, Leah.

I hope they will as soon as possible because they keep sending me emails like: "please confirm you're studying with us" and other random stuff which I do not get because I am attending the lectures, it's obvious I am studying with them? I really don't understand why it's taking them this long to contact you. I have been trying to tell them since September
I understand. I can only suggest chasing this up with them as there isn't anything we can do to make them send it to us. Thanks, Leah.
