Uni Application for Primary Education

I am a year 13 student, who was off a lot of last year (year 12) due to chronic migraines. I am therefore predicted awful grades, but I know I can do better. I am predicted CDD, but I know it will be more like ACC at the lowest after I have done my actual A levels. Does anyone have any tips for how to still get into a university?
I want to do primary education (qts), and cannot afford a foundation year.
Work your socks off this year, and get the the best grades you can, and plan an interesting gap-year to get relevant experience for teaching (Camp America® USA Summer Jobs in America Since 1969 | Camp America etc). Then apply with achieved grades for 2026 entry.

Hi @Lydia2007

I would recommend looking on UCAS to see what courses you meet the entry requirements for.
If you want to go to university in 2025 you could potentially consider applying through clearing after you have got your results as this process will be based on your actual grades rather than your predicted grades.

Hope that helps!

I went to the university of Gloucestershire on Saturday and they were saying they don’t care about predicted grades, it’s more about who you are as a person and whether they think you would be a good teacher so could be the same with a few unis
Best of luck with the application! I’m also applying to primary Ed x

Gloucestershire can't afford to be fussy about grades - they couldn't fill any of their courses if they were.

Other Unis with more competitive courses will be be concerned about your grades.
