Oxbridge 2026?!

Want to go Oxford or Cambridge for 2026

I’m in year 12 now (suppose to be year 13)
Dropped back a year bc I didn’t try in year 12 bc I was lazy ngl but now I’m hard working revising 1 and half hours a day
I do photography studies, media studies, and drama and theatre studies
Predicted BBC
Would I have a chance to get into Oxbridge to do sociology studies? With a banging personal statement but 4 grades below the entry? My mum said I can but idk cos she doesn’t understand these rhings so I’m asking you guys on this app

This looks like a bit of Trollery.

If not...

You will not be able to obtain a place at Oxford or at Cambridge with the subjects you are studying and the grades you are predicted to obtain. You would need to study three rigorous academic subjects and obtain a high grade in each subject, subject to entitlement to a contextual offer or eligibility for a Foundation Year.

In any event, Oxford does not offer undergraduate degrees in Sociology (Sociology is a postgraduate subject at Oxford). Cambridge teaches Sociology within a degree called Human, Social, and Political Sciences (HSPS).

You could try to switch to three academic A levels and then work hard towards good grades. The fact that you have been put back a year does not inspire confidence that you will be able to reach the high standard required to be a competitive candidate this time next year, but in any event you will probably need to change subjects if you are to aim for an academic degree at any of the competitive universities.

Unless you have genuine mitigating circumstances you have next to no chance, putting it generously.

Sorry to break it but no especially because of the grade boundaries. Plus, Oxford and Cambridge aren't the only universities in the world

Wow - you should definitely apply. You sound like the perfect candidate and they would be silly to let you go. I just don’t understand why you didn’t apply last year because you wrote the same post on here a year ago. Hopefully nothing bad happened to you… that would be so sad…
