Studying Chemistry A Level at 21 for Veterinary

Hi everyone, I have decided to take an interruption of study from my current degree (English Literature and Russian Studies) from the University of Edinburgh, where I have studied one year, because I have decided I want to study veterinary. I am using my year out to study another A-Level (Chemistry), which I can hopefully use to get into a veterinary course somewhere else.

Basically I’m terrified that I’ll be too old to get in to another university course. I completed my first three a levels in 2022 and I am worried that universities will feel that too much time has passed and I should have a degree by now. What do you think?

You are absolutely not too old, there are many mature students that go study vet med in their 20s 30s etc. Double check that your choices will accept the qualifications you completed earlier but I am pretty sure that none have any issues for qualifications less than 5 years old.
Also make sure that you get some work experience done, it will really help you understand the profession better and show you if it’s right for you.

Best of Luck!
