Blood donation
Is anyone an AB+ blood donor? I first donated a little over a year ago and found out I was AB+, since then I haven’t been able to see any appointments come up through my app that I could go to donate again.
Is this because they don’t need my blood type? I really want to donate, but I haven’t seen any appointments come up, and the plasma donation centres ( I believe there are only 3 in England) are just too far away from me to be able to get there and donate.
Has anyone been in this boat?

I am not a donor but it probably is because they don't want your particular blood type at the moment. AB+ blood can only be given to an AB+ recipient so its use is a lot more limited than the other blood types, unfortunately.

Yes thats true, although it is the universal plasma donor, i guess im curious if anyone knows about potential for more donation centres that take plasma in the future. Donating is really morally important to me
