Personal statement - architecture

I’m planning on doing an architecture course at Manchester university. I really want to get in as it’s the only university I really want to get into. This leads me to panic a little since I’ve seen a lot of examples of portfolios and statements that are better than mine

I don’t have any work experience that links to architecture and I took products design, photography and engineering which aren’t the ideal subjects for architecture

What should I do to increase my chances of getting in because with the research that I’d do Manchester has acceptance rate of 47% which isn’t as high as I hoped, I’ve seen so many portfolios and I think I can produce work that is on par with them but what I’m worried about is my personal statement and my lack of experience

You don't need work exprience. Have a look at the following advice on the Cambridge website that is good for all unis - click on the architecture tab:

What are your backup unis if you don't get an offer from Manchester?
