Zoology ranking

Hi,
I am trying to find the ranking for Zoology at Lancaster so I can campare it to other universities my son is looking at. I can see it is ranked 11th on the over all Guardian list, but it isn't listed for Zoology specifically.

Alternatively, I would be interested to know how the course and experience compares with Exeter (Penry), Nottingham; Sheffield and Sussex.

Finally, it doesn't look like Lancaster runs a MSci Zoology course like other institutions, is that correct?

Any other info would be gratefully received.

Many thanks

There are subject specific rankings for Zoology also: https://www.theguardian.com/education/ng-interactive/2024/sep/07/the-guardian-university-guide-2025-the-rankings

Thanks. Yes, I have seen this before, but strangely Lancaster isn't on the ranking even though it definitely offers Zoology.

Universities do need to request to be included in THE/Guardian/CUG rankings. This is done by course code / topic also, so there is the possibility the course is in a similar or less specific topic e.g Biology. DiscoverUni is a good source or course comparison also.

In regards to MSci Zoology, they no longer offer that course. Not sure why. I went to the open day last week and asked about this and they told me the 4yr options were BSc Zoology with either a placement year or study abroad year.

Interesting. How did it compare to others you'd looked at, out of interest?
