At Nottingham having work experience in pharmacy is absolutely not necessary for your application, and it does not hinder or benefit your application if you so end up having some. Any public facing role i.e working in a pub/cafe, could be a good point to discuss in you personal statement, as team working and communication skills are attributes that compliment the course very well.
In regards to other universities, I cant say whether placement would help with applications to them, but certainly none would be expecting you to spend that amount of money for experience, when all the work experience you need is offered as part of the course.
If you have any other questions feel free to reply to this message.

What type of extracurricular or supercurriculars can we do, to enhance our personal statement?
Volunteer in a care home/sports center or charity shop maybe to show you are involved in your community
If we do that how do we prove that we’ve actually done it? Like do we receive a certificate or provide the contact details (sorry I have no idea how this works we haven’t started looking at ucas in college yet 😭)
