MYP grades verification

Do universities ask for proof of qualification, such as GCSE or MYP grades in my case? do they do this after offers? I took MYP at a different school to the one where I am completing DP and submitted my MYP grades to UCAS already, though I didn’t take e-assessments. Will certificate of completion be enough if they do ask for proof or will they ask for report card or something, or do the IB send my results. I was actually really confused of what grades to put on UCAS, since I didn’t take e-assessments 😭😭😭 i also didn’t mention the personal project, was I supposed to? I thought it was irrelevant since there is no equivalent in GCSEs !!! 😭😭😭

If you are doing the full IBDP now, unis almost certainly won't need to verify your previous results.

thank you for this answer. Out of curiousity, what stops students from lying about their GCSE grades in this case? I’m no condoning cheating, and this wasn’t the case for me, if anything I was conservative with the grades I used - more just out of curiosity.

For GCSE's if students apply via their school's buzzword then the school is verifying the results, (also linked to the student's ULN number).

If they don't, then unis do request for them to be verified - either by the school or a copy from the student.

The reason your MYP results aren't really of interest is because the IBDP is a group qualification and covers English, Maths to higher levels so there is no point verifying previous results.

ahhh i see! thank you this is quite insightful. Is this also the case for unis that consider your/ MYP grades for admission. What would keep someone from inflating their MYP grades to make their chance of admission greater, if unis don’t check?

If they specifically state that they do consider MYP results, then will need to be verified at some point - whether that's by the applicant, their school, or the IB portal which unis have access to.

In brief, if it's used for admissions then the results will be checked. If not, well there's no point lying about them and rsking getting removed from the application cycle anyway.

I see, I understand your point. Since I didn’t do e-assessments which grades will be in my IB portal, or if they ask me to verify how do I do that? I based it off of the grades I used to have on Managebac which I no longer have access to. What specifically will they ask for like a report card or what exactly?

also the unis specify that they consider GCSE grades, not MYP specifically. Does this mean that they do not consider them?
