can i become a child psychotherapist?

currently i’m in my first year studying childhood. i was wondering if it is possible to eventually become a child psychotherapist with this degree and what master would i have to do?

and if not what other jobs could i do in the future that is not teaching (i have been a nursery nurse for the past 2 years and want to move on from teaching).
For any Accredited psychotherapist post you will need to do an Experimental course, not necessarily a Masters but another course after your BA.
Get on to the these 2 NHS recognised accreditation bodies for definitive career routes.
TBACP trains counsellors and psychotherapists
The UKCP trains psychotherapists.
There are Masters degrees around for psychotherapy i believe a general experiential Masters training would then require some exyra childhood pg diploma, (check with the above bodies as this may have evolved), tjere may well be specific childhood psych Masters qualifying degrees now.

But generally, no with A BA, unless it is an fill on Experiential psychotherapydegree, yoi cannot go practice directly afterwards.
Hooe thos ingo helps, the governing bodies are the place to get the thourough advice, esp if you wish to Practice NHS .
Otherwise check other psychotherapy bodies for private (more expensive too) therapist training advice.
Good luck.
Hi! anyone with knowledge on registering and practicing as a psychotherapist in the UK!))

I want to start my training to become a child and adolescent psychotherapist and so have looked a lot at the CAPT 6 year training route. It seems like a silly question as they definitely are a regulating body, and I know psychotherapists are not yet a protected title, but am I right in thinking CAPT can still qualify you as a registered psychotherapist?

When you google regulating bodies for psychotherapy (and in many online forums) you mainly hear of UKCP and BACP not CAPT, but I'm assuming thats just because its specific for child psychotherapists but they are actually equivalent?????

Someone please confirm ))
