Apprenticeship with OU Degree?

Hi, I'm currently completing a level 3 apprenticeship in business administration through my employer and looking to complete an Open University degree in law. I finish my apprenticeship in May. Would it be possible to get the part-time study loan for the OU degree and start it before the apprenticeship ends?

Thanks in advance

Hi there,

When would you be looking to actually start the course?

Thanks,

I would be looking to start the degree in February and the apprenticeship wouldn't be formally finished until about May.

Thank you. For the level 3 course is the funding only coming from your employer and not any other source (ourselves, university)? Thanks, Jason

It’s definitely not funded by SLC or a university, it’s through the local college and funded by my employer through the apprenticeship levy, so the government contribute some money for training I believe. This is what I was wondering if it would make an impact.

Thanks for confirming.

It shouldn't affect your eligibility as it's a level 3 apprenticeship.

Thanks,
Ross
