Hi @Claymaps09 ,

University is definitely a step up from sixth form and high school, but it's still very manageable. All throughout uni, you're expected to manage your own time and workload. There won’t be as much hand-holding from lecturers. This independence can feel overwhelming at first, but it also means you have more control over how and when you study. In terms of the content taught in the subject, the material is more in-depth and often more complex than what you studied before. Instead of just learning facts, you're expected to understand and critically analyse information.

Hope this makes sense,

Hi,

I would say that university is very different for everyone and it depends what you study and what uni you go to in terms of workload and difficulty. Some people will find it more difficult than others.

For me, I think it is definitely a step up from sixth form, but I found the step up from GCSE to A Level harder than A Level to university. I like that you can focus on the one thing that you have chosen to study and I found that this makes it easier in a way as you know you like the subject. I also prefer studying as I enjoy the subject which makes it a lot more enjoyable.

I also think it depends on your studying style as it is a lot more independent so you have to be motivated to get your work done on your own so if you don't like doing this, you might find it a little bit more difficult.

I also say that if you have exams or coursework makes a difference as some people prefer exams and some prefer coursework so this has an impact on the difficulty level.

I hope some of this helps,

Pass? Usually not. Do well? Arguably yes.

There's a big gap between a pass at uni (40%) and what is conventionally considered a good result (60%+).
