Transferring universities

Hello all, I am hoping someone could help me with my inquiry. I am hoping to transfer universities from UWS to any of the glasgow universities preferably. I unfortunately didn’t reach the grades i was hoping for at school so I have had to join UWS. Can anyone tell me if it’s possible

Hi there,
Thank you for your enquiry.

You can read our full policy on transfer requests on our website here: www.gla.ac.uk/undergraduate/entryrequirements/policy/#universitytransfer

As a general rule, the University does not accept applications from UK students to transfer from another institution unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Our extenuating circumstances policy can be found here: www.gla.ac.uk/undergraduate/entryrequirements/policy/#extenuatingcircumstances

All transfer requests must be made through UCAS will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Applications from students currently studying at another Higher Education Institution must meet the current SQA Higher or A level entry requirements to be considered for an offer.

Please note that applications for transfers for September 2025 entry must be submitted by the UCAS deadline of January 29th 2025 - https://www.ucas.com/undergraduate/applying-university/dates-and-deadlines-uni-applications.

I hope this is helpful. Please contact us if you have any further queries.
Best wishes,
