Still confirming details

Hi I was informed that I should receive an update on my application 17th October. My application has been approved and has been in the "confirming details: stage since last week. Are updates done at the end of the day? My university confirmed registration last week so I believe student finance are confirming my NINO.

Yes it's the first time applying. I have not received an entitlment letter. The entitlement was confirmed on my online account. It said how much I am entitled to last week Friday when the status changed to approved.

However I spoke to someone in Student Finance who said that I am due am update 17th October

Thank you, the entitlement on your account is the letter that is also on it's way in the post if it is showing in your inbox.

As you are a new student, we need to verify your National Insurance Number before we can release any payments to you. This will be sent on the next available Wednesday after the application is approved and is returned by the following Wednesday which should be the 23rd of October, going by what you have advised. Your payment will be unblocked and released to you once this is verified.

Ok just so that I understand my application changed to approved status last week Friday which means my NINO was sent yesterday and upon it being verified and everything being OK my payment should be released next week Wednesday as my university has already confirmed my registration. Am I correct?

Yes.

As long as we do have the Registration confirmation, once the NINO is validated your payment will be released.

I've actually seen on another section of the application where it says Status verifying payment details. Is that different from checking my NINO and your checking my bank details or both. Sorry to go on, just want clarification.

No, nothing on the account says blocked payments. I mentioned that earlier in the thread.

The application shows as approved, but the status ishows as confirming details in one section of the application and then verifying payment details in another section of the application.

If the application was only approved on Friday and you've got no previous applications then it would be the NINO process.

You can contact us directly to ensure the NINO has been sent off and we've received your Registration confirmation from the university.

Thanks for the information. I tried contacting directly via the chat but was told there we no advisors available.

We do have a number to call as well, it is 0300 100 0607. Keep trying the live chat in case an advisor becomes available as well.
