Mental health failed MSc

Hi .. I have failed my MSc due to mental health issues.. I already have two modules condoned
Recently I was struggling a lot so in short I submitted an EC and it’s rejected means my mark is zero as it was a second attempt and I had to pass it if I failed this means I have failed the course. The decision on EC was taken yesterday and I could submit assignment this morning when the ECs already rejected. Now that I have submitted it do you think I can appeal for it to be marked or submit another EC request along with evidence (previous EC was rejected before I submitted the evidence) btw my course is MSc and uni is UCL. I know I can have a look at uni website guidelines but I am posting here as someone May have been in a similar situation.

Hii im sorry that you are in this situation. 😞
Whilst i think that you do need to thouroughly go through all of the UCL regulations, as each is different.

I had a similar situation doing my Bsc and I was in touch allbthe time with my Pastoral tutors and the Student counsellor, it is this that made the difference I think as they pretty much knew about everything.
I know it can be hard to share our personal situations but it is the only way that they can help.
Once all evidence is in, pastoral support depts at tje uni also see you and the medical evidence, then you are stronger for appeal.
Perhaps they will let you resubmit (Im guessing this of for the Dissertation?) And graduate next year, i.e you submit for assesment deadline next year?
I was offered this option on my BSc.

Good luck and don't be ashamed. They (pastoral) are trained for this and if you have a student counsellor there go make an appointment NOw.
Take care.

Hi thanks for the response.. My uni and student well-being are also aware of my situation. I had a meeting with them last month and I agreed to some dates that I will submit my coursework by but then I became so unwell and I was so scared to contact my department but I was in touch with well being team during this time too!! I m not sure if the fact that they are aware will make any difference Bcz they are the ones who also rejected my EC. Also I remember my professor said that once an EC is rejected you can’t even appeal but I can see appeal is an option at uni website.

I think that you should retake the course, I’m not sure if you would need to fund it again though, so that you can take exams again next year. Additionally, you should also make an appointment with your GP to get proper help with your mental health difficulties, either CBT therapy or medication depending on your needs and preferences. I am sorry that you are going through this and I wish you all the best ❤️
