Sixth Form

Hiii 👋🏻 I had a small question
Is it better to apply to sixth forms as soon as the applications open to secure a place? Or would it be better to wait until after e.g. you do a few more exams and your grades improve but apply at the end?
Because some people are saying they look at all applications after the application window closes, so I don't know who I should listen to.

If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated!
Sixth forms will have a deadline, you need to submit your application by this point. Your school usually supplies the predicted grades for your application. If you’re unsure then contact your schools post-16 coordinator, speak to your form tutor/head of year/head of house etc, or email the individual sixth forms.

Look at the deadline, most times they won't really check before the deadlines.
Also, your point about grades improving is valid. I applied before the 2nd set of mocks for a sixth form and my grades pretty much increased a lot, so I regret doing that.

Yeah I'm checking with them but I just think I could improve my grades in a few subjects by December so I'm not sure

Hmmm, so would you suggest waiting then?

Ask your teachers how they calculate their predicted grades to give to sixth forms. At my school, they were based on year 10 mocks and class work then the teachers added one to whatever grade they felt we were working at.
