Can I get into Manchester/warwick/imperial

I am predicted CCD (ouch)
Failed maths GCSE but re took and got a 4 in foundation maths thank Christ but I passed everything else getting 4s but I was 1 mark away from a 5 in media studies

I went to an imperial open day and I fell in love- I really want to do economics at imperial or Manchester or Warwick which requires AAA… ouch… but if my teacher gives me a good reference and if I write a basic personal statement will I be able to get offers? Many cheers 🥂

The hard truth is probably not. CCD is just too low for these universities and there's no personal statement that will change that. Additionally, economics at any of those universities would require at least an A/A* in mathematics at A-level, which you have stated you do not study.

its fear that not possible sadly, imperial is so competitive that you would need 8s and 9s in GCSEs as a foundation and then As and A* in A level- similar for Manchester and Warwick but a bit less competitive. I always say grades are 80% and Personal statement is 20%.
idk if this is satire or not, but sounds like a joke tbh.

imperial economics is the most competitive course in the country (3.5% acceptance rate), and nearly all applicants have 4A*'s, including further maths. Everyone applies with perfect or nearly perfect GCSE's (all 9's), and nearly everyone who gets in does further maths. You don't even have single maths, and the minimum you can apply with is A*AA, so with your grades, it's well beyond impossible. And so are Warwick and Manchester, you need to have at least Maths to apply. So let alone get in, you can't even think of applying. Why would one of the best universities in the world/uk allow someone with CCD.
