Applying with deffered offer helppppppp

Hii I’m thinking of applying to Kent with a deffered entry but I saw on the their website about including the reasons in the personal statement however I’m already way over the word count and don’t think ill be able to put it in. Would this be okay and how does the university of Kent or unis in general think of deffered entry.

I'd advise speaking to their admissions team and asking whether they'll accept your reasons for asking for deferred entry submitted outside of UCAS, IE. via email.

Hey @Blossom02 & @normaw,

I hope you're both keeping well. 🙂

I’ll certainly pass your query along to my superior for further guidance, but I can hopefully give you a rough idea in the meantime.

So I think the reason the website stated to put the reasoning in your personal statement was so that you wouldn't need to send 5 emails to 5 different universities requesting a deferred entry, and rather that they would all be able to do it automatically for you once your personal statement is sent (or that at least this process would be easier to coordinate for you).
As such, I would say in your case, all you would need to do is put your request in writing to [email protected], or call them up at +44 (0)1227 827272, like @Admit-One kindly mentioned. Include your University of Kent applicant ID or UCAS ID in your message, just neatly explain your situation, and we'll be more than happy to help you out!

I would say there's no need to really worry. At Kent, and many other universities, deferring your entry is viewed positively if it’s clear that you have a constructive plan in place for the year, and if you've already met the conditions for your offer. Whether you're gaining work experience, traveling, volunteering, or some form of personal development, showing a purposeful reason for deferring definitely won't hurt your application. (And at the end of the day, you can always tell a story about how

I hope this helps, and I’ll follow up with any additional guidance from my superior as soon as possible!

I hope this helps.

Kind regards,

David 🙂

Hey guys,

Hope you're all keeping well! 🙂

Just as a little update, my supervisor got back to me and confirmed that yes, the best bet would just be to speak to admissions and get them to help you out! 😀
As such, I hope all goes well for you, and I'll be rooting for you in your new beginnings!

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

David 🙂
