chemical engineering uni application

STATS:
predicted A*AAA (Maths, further maths, physics and chemistry)
GCSE: A*9888877765

My current choices are chemical engineering at: UCL , Manchester, Birmingham, Loughborough and Imperial(materials science)

However i’m having thoughts about my chances at imperial and UCL.
Also should i apply to bath instead of birmingham? I visited bath and liked it however i know someone who went to birmingham and really liked it, and i think id get a more well rounded experience.
Also i don’t really want to have loughborough as it is being used as an insurance option, but id much rather apply to a higher ranked uni like bath or edinburgh.

Chem Eng isn't mega-competitive in the same way that Mech Eng is - but choices still depend on your predicted grades vs. entry requirements.
Choosing universities is about prioritising a range of factors and what is most important to you.

It sounds to me loosely speaking that youre interested in a traditional city uni environment rather then a smaller urban area. Based on comments about Bath/Lboro.

Id also note if employability is important to you, are you wanting to pursue a career in chemical engineering? Because UCL has basically no benefit over many other STEM unis in this industry, UCL brand certainly has benefits in financial/professional services but far less so in engineering employers.

Id also try and choose where you want to study ignoring grades, then once you have in your mind your favourite choices do a check to make sure you have balance. Because you mention Lboro being an insurance choice yet for engineering is probably has a stronger rep than all of: UCL/Brum/Manchester/Edinburgh

I get the impression you’re looking for excellent reputation unis that can provide the traditional large city studebt experience, Brum/Manchester/Edinburgh all make sense but you could consider places like:
Bristol/Southampton/Notts/leeds as well.

One other thing is geographical area, Bath & Edinburgh are opposite ends of the country is cost of living and location non-factors? Fair enough if so, but they will have a major impact on your life at university.

QMUL has no reputation for any Engineering subjects - Loughborough does.
