What are my chances (Oxford/LSE/KCL)

Achieved 4A at AS (Maths,Physics,Business,Economics)
Predicted A*A*A*A in (Maths,Physics,Economics,Further Maths (AS)
GCSE's: 6A* 5A Distinction (A* in any subject relevant to courses)
TSA score (Confident I will get a 70+)
Personal Statement: Good but varied as applying for a range of courses.

Choices:
Oxford (Economics and Management)
LSE (Management)
KCL (Economics and Management)
Exeter (Business Economics) - Offered
Liverpool (Business Economics) - Offered

What are my chances since i'm not really interested in going to Exeter and Liverpool and regret applying there (would maybe go to Exeter). Worried my GCSE's might ruin Oxford chances, plus maybe personal statement is too management based.

No one knows other than admissions tutors. You have already applied and already sat you GCSE so nothing (other than TSA) that u can control will change your chances, even if u did find out it’s low or not.

Also it’s clear your a strong applicant so u might aswell just leave it try not to worry nothing can be done now. Many strong applicants get rejected too so don’t feel terrible otherwise, but atleast you (prob) done well in terms of academics.

Yea that’s fair, thanks for your help anyway.

It is hypocritical for me to say, because I too am also stressing about this stuff but ik it’s best for us to just chill cause we can’t do any more just trust.

I’m sure it’ll work out perfectly, where have you applied / which courses?

Unfortunately my TMUA was terrible tho so I’m not expecting much from imperial/lse. The timings of the year got to me so I had to guess so many in last few mins.

When you mean A* in GCSE, you mean (8-9's) and an A is (7) right? Because I think as long as you do very well on the TSA, you would be a strong candidate well at least in my eyes.
As good a chance as anyone else, realistically. Although the note about your personal statement being "varied" may make you a weaker option for LSE, since they are pretty personal statement focused and generally the advice is to tailor a PS to them if applying there.

This should be fine, my personal statement best fits LSE’s course as it’s mainly about management anyway. Thankyou

Yea an A* = 9/8 and A=7, but this is a general rule and depends on the actual grade. Im currently achieving close to 75 in my TSA papers which I believe is competitive enough?

This gives you sort of stats needed for Oxford.Applications 2023 about 1500 and offers 90 places so very competitive to say the least but if you get to interview it is in your own hands LSE only concern was why did you drop FM as AS level.Did school not offer full A level and was this explained on the reference.

On this resource, the section about GCSE statistics. Is it suggesting that 8's and 9's are both treated as A stars? Hence would something like 3 (9s) and 7 (8s) give an average of 10?

I wasn’t offered it in year 12 so had to do the AS in year 13, but my headmaster told me not to put it in my personal statement that I wasn’t offered it. As apparently it sounded like I “complained”, which would apparently be bad.

It should have been explained on your reference from the school referee not your ps.Sounds like he might have had his own agenda there as LSE state they would like schools to declare it on their entry requirement page if A level FM is not available. However the fact that you took the AS in year 13 rather than dropped after year 12 throws a different light on things.I would think that should not go against you.
