Cambridge SAQ

Im currently filling out the my Cambridge application as an econ applicant, and wondering if it is worth doing the extra PS. My current Advanced Highers are Maths of mechanics (Equivalent to A level FM), Maths and French along with a higher RMPS (re/philosophy). Im worried my PS isn’t mathsy-enough, all ive got maths wise is the women in maths residential at Cambridge. UKMT maths challenges are mentioned in my reference. Im tempted to touch more on the maths part in the additional PS but is what i have already enough ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated thank u!!

If you do not feel that you have covered those areas enough, you have the opportunity in the additional PS. To me, it’s better to do it than not then regret it.

I suggest covering your interests in maths, what led you to choose maths, some supercurriculars in your subject area (include the women in maths residential at Cambridge and UKMT maths challenges there) etc.

Good luck

I have no direct experience but you can look at the following:

Participating in formal competitions such as Olympiads, Math challenges etc.

Tutoring maths to young people

Learning Maths through public forums such as online platforms

Helping other young girls to learn maths

Good luck
