HELP!!

There are current issues going on in my family due to domestic abuse caused by my dad. He is extremely controlling especially towards my mum. Ever since disclosing about what was going on in my family home, my dad has no longer been physically abusing her but is now emotionally and financially abusing her to continue controlling her. My mum has always been a housewife because she's been forced to stay at home and take care of the kids because of my dad's old fashioned beliefs. I just wanted to ask if my mum still being married to my dad limits her from getting benefits such as universal credit and any others that she's eligible for. I really would appreciate it if someone answered this because I want to apply my mum for benefits.
Hello, what you and your mum are experiencing sounds really difficult, it’s good that you have reached out for support. Women’s aid are experienced in supporting people in situations like you have described, if you reach out to them they should be able to provide you with advice: https://www.womensaid.org.uk/information-support/
There is also the National Domestic Abuse helpline: https://www.nationaldahelpline.org.uk/
I do hope that this helps.
