30 years old is not really that much older than 21 years old!!! 😀 Because, I am applying for a Law degree at St. John's College, Oxford around the same time as you and will be in my late 30s!!! lol

There are many others who are in their 30s and 40s but in smaller numbers compared to other universities. Moreover, there are hundreds of older people at the colleges doing Master's and PhD degrees in their 30s, 40s and 50s and some in their 60s too. So, you won't be the only 30 year old but you might be the only one on your 'desired' degree course perhaps?! 😉

Which degree course have you applied for? 😧

Also, take a look at: "The Oxford University Alternative Prospectus"

College Suggester - Oxford University Alternative Prospectus (oxfordsu.org)

Also, it may be worthwhile to email the admissions tutor(s) directly:

Good luck. 🙂

Are you a student from a European Union country or elsewhere? 😧

Are you studying Latin or Greek at A-Level or equivalent?

There will be admissions tests for you to take too perhaps? 😧

Well done in taking a huge leap in applying to Magdalen College, Oxford!!! 😀 lol
Thank you☺️ I love Classics so much from my childhood. I studied it in my school in Moscow. Now i live in the another country, and until i love Classics. I work in the second-hand bookstore, and have just plenty books of Classics in my home🤩🤩🤩 My favorite writer and poet is Oscar Wilde, too.
I have also books with the real Oxford's embleme, you cannot imagine, and they are about Classics,i found them in this second hand bookstore. Also began to read them, they are amazing🤩🤩🤩 And Latin Language is amazing, too. I studied it through the "Mondly" application. And in other applications.

Ultimately, Oxford will be looking for 2 years of studying of A-Levels or IB or equivalent.

Do you have any exams achieved or certificates at 16 or 18? Or recently? 😧

Here are the subjects required or helpful for Classics and English at Oxford:

Required subjects: English Literature or English Language and Literature

Recommended subjects: Not applicable

Helpful subjects: Latin, Ancient Greek, Classical Civilisation, Ancient History or a modern language

So you could study IALs in English Literature, French and Spanish perhaps and achieve A* and A grades, and then apply to Magdalen College, Oxford? Because the reality is that Magdalen and all other Oxford University colleges will be expecting 3 A-Levels or IB or equivalent?!

Which city and country do you currently reside? Then, I can tell you where to go and register for the IAL exams!!! 🙂

You can’t apply this year for 2027 or 2028 entry.

I don’t mean to be unkind, but judging by your posts, I think you also need to work on your English. Oxford would expect written and oral fluency with very few grammatical mistakes as you would be writing long essays in English from day 1 and translating from Latin or Greek into English.

And as the poster above indicates, you will need excellent marks in some kind of school leaving qualification.

If you don’t want to go to university till 2027 or 2028, you have time to work on all these things. If you get the right qualifications and can do some more English language study, then maybe apply in October 2026 for entry in 2027.
