Land Economy SAQ

I just wanted to know if anyone might have any advice on approaching the SAQ. First time ever seeing this! I have a plan to expand on the subjects together and why I myself want to study them. I am unsure if it is good to mention another book I am reading or another extracurricular / another work experience I will do. How have people seen this approached previously?

That’s a good approach. You should cover areas not already covered in your main PS expanding on your interests, supercurriculars and other areas.

Thank you! Have you done it before? Would love to hear more of your input on what else I can cover. I worry that there is a lot to cover in depth but not enough characters to cover *everything* so I need to be very selective and concise.

I have not done it before.

You don't have to cover everything but the areas important to you.

My daughter did it last year for land economy. She included super curricular that she had completed since writing her PS. She also included aspects of Land Economy that she has not covered in her PS, which in her case was Law. She wrote it more like a list rather than a structured essay, as I think she read on the Cambridge website that it’s okay to do so.

She just started the course and is loving it. Best of luck.

Thank you so much for the advice! I am fairly similar in that I am aiming to cover law in the SAQ. Could you please describe in more detail what sort of supercurricular she did and how she linked it while being brief? It is quite tough to explain the links like in my PS but I still want to show why I did something.

I would also be quite grateful if you could expand on her experience of the law aspect of an interview too if you do not mind. I have not taken it at school so a little worried about that if I am invited.

She just mentioned that she had read Is Eating People Wrong, and What About Law. She had not done Law before at school, and was not asked about it at interview either. She was asked about some housing/environment things that she had included in her PS, but most of the questions were not based on anything she included in her PS/SAQ.

Really appreciate the response, very helpful. Thank you!
