Psychology A-level?

I’ve just started year 11 and I’m thinking about my A level options. I know I definitely want to do History and German because they’re what I want to study at uni, which is why I’m having trouble picking my third because my options are open. I didnt really want to do stem or maths and was considering RS or Drama but I went to my schools options evening and I found psychology quite interesting. Ive done some research too and everyone that I’ve talked to enjoys it - and it sounds interesting and a nice break from the other too. My worry is would it be compatible with my other two options and would it be worth taking in the long run?

honestly don’t worry! if you know what you want to do at uni, the best thing you can do is apply for those a levels for college and check some unis for their entry requirements. for example, if you choose to do history, a uni may tell you “you need to do history a level and achieve this grade, along with one/two other essay based subjects”.

for my a levels, i chose film, english, and law, and now i do film and english at uni. my uni asked for english at b or above, along with one other essay based subject. law was definitely my fun one which i knew i wasn’t going to pursue at uni but it was still so fun to study.

i don’t think there’s any harm in doing psychology if that’s what you want to do! who knows, you might enjoy it so much that you choose to pursue it at uni😌 don’t stress too much about it. you can usually talk your choices through beforehand with somebody as well. at my college interview, the kind lady spoke through my options with me, and i’m sure your teachers are willing to do that as well
