I’m planning to go to university when I leave school to study Classics and I was just wondering about the exams. What are the classics exams like? Are they like history exams in high school? How long are they? How many questions is there?
At Leeds I had Classics exams but I can't remember much about them (it was a long time ago).
At the OU I've only had 1 exam and it was a Latin exam, and it was done from home, I had 24 hours in which to do it, and it was open book. Every other year it has been purely assignment based.
Each university will be totally different and it will also depend what type of papers you take as a Latin language exam is going to be very different from one on Greek tragedy in translation.
