Same boat as you, waiting for maintenance loan with OU. Also can't login to student finance this morning to check as the website is down for improvements but assuming nothing's changed yet.
OU don't do confirmation to student finance until 2 weeks after we start, at the earliest. So they should be doing confirmations next week, I'm planning to call the OU fees team in the morning to confirm. I started on the 5th which was a Saturday so the earliest they'll do confirmation for me is tomorrow.
If you're an OU student getting maintenance loan its best to ignore the dates provided by student finance and expect to wait an extra week at least - not student finance's fault but just the way OU do things. With all being well we should get our first payments within the next week. That's how it worked last year so expecting this year to be the same.

Due date doesn't count unless OU confirm attendance, no.
Because the due date will have passed, as soon as OU confirm attendance and student finance get the update, the payment will be released which takes 3-5 days to reach you. It takes 24 hours for attendance confirmation to update on student finance's systems so the soonest the payment will be released is Tuesday

I had confirmation from The OU this morning in an automated email to say they have confirmed my attendance with SFE.

Hi just so u know open uni confirms the attendance 14 days after the start as long as you have been accessing the materials online then they would have confirmed on Monday. My grant is being paid tomorrow check only your student finance portal to see if that have changed from awaiting confirmation to ready to be paid. If this has call student finance and they will tell you when to expect it in your account. The start of my module was the 5th of October so I may be able to work it out from the dates I have given and your dates. Hope this helps and if it has not been confirmed by open uni then contact them
