Hey yall!! is it possible to go from a 4 to a 9 gcse? I'm in year 10.

In a few weeks time I'm likely going to grt homeschooled cause my school is so crap. I just can't learn anything cause ppl are being *******s in the class. I really want to show ppl that It's n3ver to late to change. I need some advice on how many hours a day I need to do to achieve 8/9 for gcse ( I have 15 months )

Hiii! I homeschooled through my GCSEs and 9months before the exams I got a bit of a shock as I got a couple of 4s and 5s in Maths, Biology and Chemistry. Obviously I was really worried as I'd aimed for much higher grades but just hadn't done enough past papers to understand how to answer questions properly and get full marks.

So I did probably 7 hrs a day for 6 months, then literally just spent the last 3 months spending every minute of the day revising.
By the end I got 99998887.
So it's all up to you watching youtube videos like freesciencelessons etc (it's been so long since I did them so I'll have to get back to you on all the yt channels )

Wow okay!! I feel more motivated then ever before ^^
The resources i use generally, cgp books, senneca and just random yt channels
Since when I'm homeschooled I can't do practical stuff, for the sciences. How is that meant to work?? Also i'm doing geography which has practical work at some point as well.

You will have to do iGCSEs for those subjects, unless a school allows you to do practicals with them.

Create a revision timetable of all your topics, coloyurcode them in green/orange/red depending on how well you know them, don't burn yourself out lol. And watch Mr Bruff/Mr Salles/ Khan Academy/CrashCourse (literature/history/etc)/freesciencelessons/ COGNITO!! (sooo good sciences/maths)/ Dr Bruin for science/ Smile with Sola for revision tips/GCSE Maths Tutor. I don't think there are any more - I'll have to check though.

Don't forget that it's easier to understand a topic and f you explain it to someone else, or pretend to lol if you don't have a willing family member/friend to do it to. It just solidifies info and basically ensures you memorise the whole book so you get really knowledgeable!
Ali Abdaal has done a great video on all the revision techniques he used in uni and they helped me too!
Also I would do past papers, then mark it myself and memorise the specific answers to the questions I got wrong.
Whilst you shouldn't burn yourself out, you do have to immerse yourself in it so maybe work really hard every day but treat yourself to a movie or some rest and make sure you get sleep/drink much more!
