The Student Room Group

was i having an anxiety/panic attack?

i have had my heart beating rlly fast sometimes
but i have a feeling it has caused me to have anxiety
in one of my lessons this week i got picked on
cause two ppl said mean things to me
i went to the bathroom to cry as i knew i was going to start crying in class
after i came back i couldn't hold back the tears and kept crying in class trying to control my breath
but i had to wipe it away i think a student noticed it
but didn't say anything, after a while my fingers were shaking
and my heart kept beating rlly fast and felt weak
idk if it is cause my teacher followed me to the bathroom
and i got yelled that is why or smth else
It sounds like it could have been a panic attack. I would try and reach out to someone for support whether that be a member of staff or your GP for mental health support. In terms of bullying I would try and speak to someone you trust as well at school or at home.

Could you speak to your GP about your mental health?

Unfortunately, if you are being bullied you have to persistently ask for help before anything is done (you may have be to be increasingly annoying to do it, but you deserve not to be bullied). If nothing is done, you could make a formal complaint about staff involved to the head of your college.

When I have had panic attacks, I find distraction very helpful or "shocking" the body. Some random distractions for me include Duolingo, colouring or listening to music. Dunking your face in cold water for up to 30 seconds might help change the way your body is feeling, helping you cope with a panic attack. In the long term, as @Analyst89 has said, you need to speak to your GP which could help you arrange professional support.

the two mean people should have treated you better 💖

it may be your brain thought the mean people and teacher who followed you would lead to an unpleasant experience? this could be the cause of your quickened heart rate and feeling of weakness

You really need to see a professional.

Do you have panic, anxiety attacks only in class? Maybe you can contact student support.
