Bristol open day urgent!!!!

I would love to go to the open day but the booking is full, if anyone won’t be going but has booked, please could you send a qr code as it is one of my top choices and I did not realise it would fill up so quickly! HELP

If you're desperate, you could risk just pitching up anyway.

The instructions Bristol gave to attendees with bookings last year was, "Please arrive at least five minutes before the start of your open day talks as any spaces after this time may be given to non-booked guests."

So without a booking, you might be able to get into some of the talks - but only if there are enough no-shows. It's clearly a risky strategy though!

Thanks, I live far away so am not sure about going to risk it, I’m pretty sure you need an overall open day booking to see the buildings. Do you know if there is a waitlist? Thank you !

If you live far away, I can understand why you wouldn't want to try the "just pitch up and hope" approach!

I don't know whether there's a wait list, unfortunately. The people who would know are at [email protected] (+44 (0)117 394 1649).

Do they do offer holder days? You could wait for one of those.

You could also ask whether another open day is scheduled before the Jan deadline. Often unis have more than one.

Unfortunately they do not - I already checked that:

"Our undergraduate open day on Saturday 26 October is now fully booked. Our next open days will take place in June 2025." (source)

Well that's not great.

A self-arranged visit is also an option. Sometimes you can meet with staff subject to availability. They might have recordings of samply lectures as well.

But yes, I agree that just rocking up is potentially risky, especially if you are travelling a fair way.

Go - there are always folk who book and don't turn up, so if you just go to the registration desk, they should be able to fit you in.

Thanks everyone, I spoke to a friend and they said they had to check in with a code multiple times. I will email and see what they say but am guessing I will get an automated response.
