Moving from halls to private room in Sep 2025

I'm currently staying at University Halls and I've been told I should start securing a private room for September 2025. Is that not a bit too early? Will landlords agree to rental contracts starting that far ahead?

usually starts in january/feb but i do see a lot of people already securing houses for 2025 so it’s not extremely early. i would at least wait until january as many people change their mind and then need to find replacement which you should try to avoid as it is a biggg pain (currently in this situation myself)

so do you join up with 2-3 mates and then rent one big house altogether? Are all 3-4 people on the rental agreement for the house then or do each of them have their own contract for their room? thanks for your help!

If you decide to rent from a private landlord, I would recommend you check out TenantTrust, it's an app where you can find landlord reviews before you rent.
