English literature at Bristol

I really like the English course at Bristol but I’ve heard that Bristol aren’t good at supporting students especially in writing university level essays and the workload can be quite a lot, is Bristol a good uni for English? I’m also thinking York but the course at Bristol is more modern which I’m looking for and I’m looking at Manchester because they have an English and American study course

Hi!

If you'd like to learn more about York, I can help you get in touch with current students or the programme leaders - let me know and I can help 🙂

I think you would like the feel of Bristol as a university more than the other two, given how beautiful it is. The other thing is, as far as l have experienced at Russell Group universities, lecturers don't provide you with any solid guidance on how to write a top class essay, as though they prefer for you to work it out for yourself. There are self study books, and material online to help.
