Hello! @onionstinky1 🙂
Have you had a look at UEA's law course? If you do choose to study at UEA, there is the opportunity to volunteer at the UEA Law Clinic which gives you real life work experience in the law sector. This is just to name a few of the career opportunity you can be a part of!
Is there a particular field of law you're interested in?
UEA is based in the city of Norwich. It's a campus based university, that's not too far away from Norwich city centre.
I'd highly recommend attending an open day if you can see yourself studying at UEA because it gives you the opportunity to talk to current student and staff on the Law course.
I hope this helps! Fell free to ask to any questions if you have any 🙂

Hi there,

If you're looking at undergraduate options outside of the Russell Group, The University of Law (UoL) is a fantastic choice, especially for those interested in law. UoL offers a range of undergraduate programs, including LLB (Hons) Law and other specialised law degrees.

What sets UoL apart is its emphasis on practical legal skills. The curriculum is designed to prepare you for a career in law, with a strong focus on employability. You'll have the opportunity to engage in real-world legal scenarios, participate in mooting competitions, and benefit from skills workshops. The university also has strong connections with legal practitioners, providing excellent networking opportunities.

Additionally, UoL’s smaller class sizes mean you can expect personalised attention from faculty, which can enhance your learning experience. The supportive environment helps students thrive academically and develop confidence in their abilities.
If you're considering a law degree and want a practical, career-focused education, UoL is definitely worth exploring.

Feel free to reach out if you have any more questions!

University of Law probably is your best option in terms of studying only but some of my older friends have complained about student life etc. University of Leicester is a really good choice and would be mine as well, do more research on it but it's up there.

Hello,

If you are looking for a non-Russell university good for law, I highly recommend SOAS. The LLB course at SOAS focuses on law from a global perspective, so you get more than just the standard English Legal System; it also covers law in Oriental, African, and Asian countries.

Many professors at SOAS are active researchers in their fields so you will be taught by some people whose work will be part of your reading. SOAS is a smaller university, meaning that the cohort size is smaller too and cozier 🙂

I'd suggest maybe attending some open days or going onto campus for a tour so that you can get a better idea of the universities you are applying to. Here is a link to book an on-campus tour at SOAS: https://www.soas.ac.uk/visit-soas/campus-tours#how-to-book-your-place.

There is also a virtual option if you would prefer that: https://www.soas.ac.uk/visit-soas/soas-open-days.

Good luck with your application!

Best Wishes,

the best ones in london are definitely Royal Holloway, SOAS
can't believe nobody here has said lancaster. probably one of the "highest-ranked" (if that matters to you) non-russell group unis for law. also, incredible student satisfaction rates. their law course is also probably one of the most modern and fast-developing too. campus uni though so only if that's your thing

Hi there,

Our Department of Law and Criminology is a diverse and vibrant community dedicated to criminal and social justice, with a strong reputation for research and teaching. You can find out more about our undergraduate law courses here.

If you'd like to find out more about Law at Royal Holloway and about our university in general, I would recommend coming along to our Online Open Day this Wednesday (30 October), or our next in-person Open Day on 23 November.

I hope this is helpful!

Best wishes,
Royal Holloway, University of London
