biomed degree and finding a job

I'm in yr12 and want to do biomed but I've heard from people that you cant get a job after graduating
my second option would be psychiatry, but I would need to do medicine and I don't think I would get accepted to med school as I got 7s,6s and 5s in my gcse ( I started late as I just arrived to the country at the time )
but would I have a chance of getting in if I do biomed first then apply to med school or should I stick to BioMed, and if I do is it a successful industry
Hi I'm a third year biomed student and you can get into medicine with a biomedical science degree. You can do something called graduate entry medicine which is 4 years instead of the full 5 if you have a biomed degree. A lot of my classmates are doing that. Some biomed degrees are IBMS accredited so you can become a biomedical scientist. Mine (at Queen Mary) is not IBMS accredited so I can't unless I top up modules and I don't want to. I personally am going to study nursing after I graduate. But I know a lot of my peers are going into medicine or dentistry after. Also if you're in the top whatever (I think it's like top 19 students or something) percent of biomed students at QM and you apply to study medicine at QM after (for the 4 year or 5 year course) you will have guaranteed interview. I can only speak on QM because i'm a student here. But my question is if you get good a level results I'm sure you can still get into med, no?

That's amazing. I really hope you get them and I'm sure you will. And to be honest I think if you get those grades your gcses won't matter as much. You should still be able to get into medicine because I'm pretty sure they care more about a levels but speak to someone like a teacher. They'll know better than me. Best of luck whatever you do.
