Whilst studying at Kingston has a number of perks, one of my favourites is how quick it is to get into central London! Not only do you get to avoid some of the chaos but you also have access to a number of things including a tonne of art!
Here in London we’re super luck to have some amazing galleries! From the Tate to Whitechapel and Ravens Row, the chances are that no matter where you find yourself in central there is a great art gallery near to you. Whether it’s a hobby or you’re looking for some inspiration for your studies even just popping to one gallery can be a great way to spend some time in Central!
It’s not just about big galleries though, some big names are also currently available to see! With Tracey Emin in the White Cube, Mike Kelly at Tate Modern and the Frieze Fair, this month is a great time to get yourself out to see some art! If you’re after sone inspiration I’d really recommend checking the Time Out website recommendations as they regularly provide a list of great exhibitions on in Central!
It’s also definitely worth having a little look online before you’re day out to make sure you’re getting the most value you can! Whilst there is loads of free art to see, certain galleries and exhibitions do charge. However many of these will also do a student price (such as the rate collective which provided you super cheap entry to exhibitions) or be included in the student art pass which grants you access to a number of different galleries for half the price!
Which exhibitions and galleries are you planning to go to soon ? Let me know in the comments!
