Every uni has its own requirements. To where do you think you might like to apply?

University College London
For their Economics BSc (Econ) degree, UCL want "Grades: A*AA | Subjects: Mathematics grade A* required, plus if Economics is offered it must be grade A" (source)
For their Statistics, Economics and Finance BSc degree, UCL want "Grades: A*AA | Subjects: A* in Mathematics required. Further Mathematics preferred. If you are studying both then the A* can be in either subject. Other preferred subjects include Chemistry, Economics, Physics and Statistics."

University of Warwick
For their Economics BSc degree, Warwick want "A*A*A including A in Mathematics" (source).
For their Accounting and Finance BSc degree, Warwick want "A*AA including A in Maths" (source).

Queen Mary University of London
For their Economics and Finance BSc (Econ) (Hons) degree, Queen Mary want "Grades AAA at A-Level. This must include A-Level Mathematics. Excludes General Studies, Critical Thinking and Use of Mathematics" (source).
For their Economics BSc (Econ) (Hons) degree, Queen Mary want "Grades AAA at A-Level. This must include A-Level Mathematics. Excludes General Studies, Critical Thinking and Use of Mathematics" (source).

So your subjects are fine. Are you likely to get the mix of A and A* grades that these unis are looking for?

(Obviously each of these universities offer similar degrees to those I've listed above. Those degrees, and their entry requirements, are listed on their web sites.)

Hey @imrxn07,

I hope you're keeping well. 🙂

So, as DataVenia kindly pointed out, the important subject that universities will be looking out for will be Maths, and then you can accompany that with pretty much any other solid subject. So in your case, biology and chemistry will be really good subject combination to pair with it.
If I could offer a little tip though, it may be worth trying to read 1 or 2 interesting books related to economics and finance to bolster your understanding and then present this on your personal statement to help make your application look more attractive.

Regardless, the point still stands, some of the best economists and investors came from the maths and sciences, and as such, you're on some solid ground and should just aim to work hard!

Wishing the best for you! 😉

Warm regards,

David 🙂
