However, a higher proportion of Edinburgh Napier graduates actually go on to work as engineering professionals, in a role where their degree is essential or beneficial. That might suggest that Edinburgh Napier has a better careers service.

Heriot-Watt University, only 72% are "engineering professionals" with 84% saying that they are "employed in a role where degree was essential or beneficial". At that point, the average salary of £25,500; by the fifth year after having graduated, median earnings are £35,000. (See
