Nottingham or Manchester

Hi, I recently got offer from Nottingham for Economics and from Manchester for Economics and Finance. I am also waiting for QMUL’s Economics and Finance. I haven’t received an offer from them yet. Which uni should I choose? Any suggestion or advice would be helpful.

I think it depends on what university you solely prefer. Ignore rankings because you’ve got two solid russel group unis there and rankings change every year. Consider location, feel of the campus, opportunities, modules is a good one to consider. As Manchester offers economics AND finance it gives you that extra factor. Like i said it’s something only you can really determine. But we’ll done on getting offers from 2 top universities!
I would choose Manchester in a heartbeat. One of the best universities outside of Oxbridge, LSE and Imperial. Basically London but without the high prices. Excellent student life, nightlife, societies etc. And it is high ranking in economics. I would firm Manchester and insurance nottingham. QMUL has a lot of bad reviews

Hello @shdhdhdh,

Congratulations on your offers!

I truly believe that attending an open day at each institution is the best way to decide where to go. As @Eviednmfs has noted, you could also look at some of those factors to help you decide.

All the best,
Abián.

Manchester has a higher global ranking overall, but for Economics it is Nottingham that has one of the top departments in the UK.
