MSc Psychology Conversion Derby/Wolverhampton/Arden Jan 2025 Start

Hi all
Looking for input on any of the following online MSc Psychology conversion courses from anyone who has done them:
Arden
Derby
Wolverhampton

How was your experience and would you recommend the course?
Especially interested in hearing from anyone who has finished any of these courses and has since pursued further postgraduate study in Psychology.
Thanks

Hi, I'm looking at these as well... hopefully someone can answer your questions.
I'm interested too, hope someone replies ♥️ This process of trying to find the right online course is harder than looking for the right UG uni 😅

When are you thinking of starting and what Universities have you got on your list so far?
I like the sound of Roehampton. My UG is in counselling and psychotherapy (just finished this year) and ideally would like to do the counselling psych doc there. The prog lead of that course is v well respected in the counselling industry, only heard great things about him and the course. I like the sound of CCU too. What about u? ♥️

Hello!

I did the MSc Psychology Conversion at Arden University and I had a great time. It's worth bearing in mind that people do the MSc for a variety of different reasons, I did the course to stabilise my current role and also get access to funding for SEND students so progression data can be misleading.

Arden have a mixture of 100% online and blended learning programs in places like Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and London. They have the best virtual learning environment I have come across (and I have worked in F.E/H.E for over 10 years), and the course is fully accredited by the BPS which is crucial for progression.

With any provider, check out their score on the Teaching Excellence Framework from the Office for Students, the report should be readily available online

I contacted a few, including Roehampton (where I used to study my undergrad degree) but I haven't heard from them yet, so not sure... I'm looking at the Northumbria now, but haven't decided yet...

Are you based down south? I'm visiting chester uni soon, as I know a few people who have done the conversion there and highly reccomended it! Manchester is also online, haven't heard much but what I have heard is positive 😊

Thanks, yes, I'm down south. Hence I'm looking for an online and accredited, but just can't decide where to go...

Hi all, sorry I didn't realise people had replied!

I've knocked Arden off my list after having a chat with a current student. Plus I find the incessant phone calls and emails (even though I've requested they stop) really annoying.
I was offered a place at Wolverhampton to start last month but I've deferred to January until I make a final decision. I'm not mad on the modules there and the amount of them.

I'm leaning towards Derby but I need to finalise my application. I really would like to get started in January if possible as this gives me a chance to do an optional module in educational psychology which is what I want to focus on.

Definitely still open to other options though!

Hey, thanks for your feedback, appreciated! I'm also thinking about applying to Derby, and the other options are BCU and Roehampton so far... I also want to start in January! It's so hard to choose the right Uni, I hope I won't regret my choice...

So I've decided to go with Derby starting in January. I think it will suit me best in terms of modules and mode of study.
I also like that I can choose to exit at Certificate or Diploma level if I decide I don't want to go for a full masters!
