Late SAQ for Cambridge

I submitted my SAQ at exactly 6pm today (the deadline) as I had been late coming home due to train delays. As it was exactly on the deadline, I had thought that it should be fine, yet I recieved an email almost immediately from cambridge confirming that my application had been recieved but that it was late. I have emailed my college to inquire about this, but wont recieve a response until at least tomorrow as it was sent outside of working hours. Will I still be ablr to go through with my application to Cambridge?
The Email from Cambridge literally says that they received it at 6:00 pm UK time, which is apparently after the deadline.

Why did you leave it to the last minute? Even if you submitted your application on the deadline 15th. You would have had a whole week to do the SAQ. Why did you leave it till to the last minute?

I had been busy with admissiobs tests until the 16th, since then had been writing the extra PS and just wanted to go over and review it today, ended up wanting to make chmages which meant that I only submitted it at bang on 6pm
It's ultimately at their discretion if you've missed the deadline.

I really hope your college isn’t strict with the deadline especially since it was less than a minute. Wish you the best !

Thing is how am I supposed to know that submitting it exactly on the deadline counts as late? Doesn't seem right to me that they would just cancel my application despite technically being on the deadline.

Receive the application form *by* 6pm, not at. You will probably be ok. But regardless, a lesson in a deadline is a deadline, don't leave things that late. If you had technical difficulties that resulted in it being say an hour late, it's still on you because you left it that late in the first place compared to say, having been trying to submit ahead of the deadline and having problems. I know people on my course who had a 10 mark (i.e. entire grade) automatic deduction on their dissertation for missing the deadline by like 2 minutes.
Yeah, deadlines are, by their definition, the time you have to get your work done *before*.
