GCSE Resits 2022

Hi, my question is can i change tiers when i resit? Ive been doing higher science since yr9 but my teachers are dropping me down to foundation few weeks before my exams. Also could i talk to the exam board about this?

It’s your schools decision if you do higher or foundation. If you resit then you can ask to change which tier you do.

If you are entering exams through your school and at their expense then they will decide what tier is best to enter to you for. You can try to persuade them but it is their decision.

If you are retaking exams and paying for your entries then you can decide what tier you want to do and the school should follow your wishes. If you are taking them independently as a private candidate somewhere they will definitely do whatever you ask (and pay for).

Exam entries are done through your school / exam centre. The exam board does not want to hear from you directly about your entry tier and will not do anything about it if you contact them.
