How much would one bad grade in IGCSE matter?

So firstly, English is my second language, but because of administrative issues i got roped in EFL instead of ESL.

And I'm stressing out that I'll do really bad for Language. I'm confident I can get 5 9s for the other subjects, but with English I'm praying I dont fail. I'm not bad at English, just despise analysis essay writing and blank on it often.

I will be doing A-levels and I am confident I'll do good because I'll only do the subjects I like.

So bottom line, how much would one bad IGCSE grade matter for Universities, I have plans for America or Europe, but might stay in Asia for my Bachelors.

And if I fail, do I have to resit?

Thank you for taking the time to read.

If you fail English you would have to retake.
However, the pass grade that you need for any given course would depend on the grades stated in their entry requirements. This depends on how necessary the skills are for the degree and is usually a 4-5 for English and Maths.
A handful of universities will look at your GCSE grades as part of the admission process but most use the predicated A level grades.

Question: Could a good IELTS score suffice for the requirement or do most universities require it to be IGCSE?

Also, I will be applying after I get my A-levels results, so I hope that would make them less likely to care about my IGCSE.
