Would a Quantity Surveying degree course be a struggle for me?

Hi I am interested in becoming a Quantity Surveyor. The A Level subjects that I have picked are Biology, Food and Nutrition and Business. I did achieve a grade A in GCSE Technology & Design. I am worried that my lack of construction and/or A Level Maths/Physics would make me struggle on this course. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, my friend's uncles are Quantity Surveyors she said that physics isn't necessary (not that imprtnt) but that having good maths skills would be beneficial hence i would suggest trying to switch to maths or at least maintaining good mathematical knowledge from GCSE also its good that you've done gcse DT. Hope that helps!

Physics are not really relevant. Basic understanding of mathematics would be fine, we do basic measurements, and most calculations are via excel / calculator. The maths involved are no way near as complex as say a civil engineer. Bit of advice, most people become general building QS's... don't do this, if you want to pursue a career in QS'ing, get yourself into a niche market - ie Rail, MEP, Defence or Nuclear. PM me if you have any queries.
